[Draft] Your Guide To Alexopolis Court

Part 1 – Plaintiff

Step 1 – Find your case.

If you believe that you have a case against another member of Alexopolis. First read the laws of the Alexopolis Ministry to see whether you have a case or not. If you cannot find any direct link to your case in the laws, go seek out the advice of a professional to see whether you have a case.

Step 2 – Set a date.

If you have a case, then you should seek out legal representation who will then either communicate with the player and come to a settlement or deal with the Ministry to get the proper documents and to set up a court date. The court will then send a court order to the player/players you are taking to court.

Step 3 – Preparation.

This will contain a date and time that court will take place. You and your legal representative will have until that date to get evidence and prepare for court. You will be able to find witnesses who will be able provide evidence in court.

Step 4 – Court.

Once you are in court then you will have to remove your items apart from evidence and totems of undying. You will go to the Plaintiff stand and then you and your lawyer will then provide evidence to the court (in some cases there will be a jury in others it may just be the judge). Once you have provided your case and evidence to back it up the defendant and their legal representative will have a chance to defend. This may go back and forth a while until both sides have nothing more to give.

Step 5 – Result.

The Judge/Jury will then decide whether the defendant is guilty or not. If found guilty the Judge will then look at the laws and decide the appropriate punishment (Punishments found here) for the crime. If you were suing, then you would receive the appropriate amount. If they have been sentenced to death you have the right to suggests what method, they are killed by and to watch.

Part 2 – Defendant

Step 1 – Served.

You will be served with a court order or be approached and offered a settlement which you can pay.

Step 2 – Preparation.

You should then seek out legal representation who can then work with you to try and find evidence and witnesses to prove your innocence or try and argue your situation to reduce your sentence.

Step 3 – Court.

On your court time and date, you will have to turn up. If you do not turn up, you will be fined, and another date will be set. If you do not turn up on multiple occasions, then you will be given a prison sentence. If you turn up, then you will stand in the Defendant stand and then the Plaintiff will present their attack and then you and your legal representation will defend you to try and prove your innocence or reduce your sentence.

Step 4 – Result.

The Judge/Jury will then decide whether you are guilty or not. If found guilty the Judge will then look at the laws and decide the appropriate punishment (Punishments found here) for the crime. If they were suing, then you would give the appropriate amount.
